Get the quarterly publication "Nebraska Ancestree". The Ancestree contains a variety of genealogical and historical source material related to Nebraska and Nebraskans. Society members may submit free queries to be included in the publication. Members may also submit articles for publication that relate to Nebraska or genealogy. Questions about the Ancestree can be sent to: editor@nsgs.org The Nebraska Ancestree is mailed to US addresses only. It is available in digital and printed format.
Members only access to information on the website which includes previous family recognition applications, list of charter members, Nebraska newspapers list, the recent conference syllabus & more*
Members only emails including the newsletter "NewBrassKey", an online newsletter featuring genealogical hints, aids, news, upcoming events, information about publications, our library acquisitions and other resources.
Discounts for our annual conference
Microfilm Rental: The Nebraska State Genealogical Society has a selection of microfilm available for rent to members, for a nominal fee. A catalog detailing the films and ordering instructions are available on the website.
NSGS Library: Our library collection is housed in the beautiful Beatrice Public Library, 100 N 16th St, Beatrice, NE. NSGS members are allowed to rent materials from the collection for a fee for postage. Our library holdings include a vast collection of resource materials for most counties in Nebraska as well as many local and family histories and limited source materials for states adjoining Nebraska and along the great migration trail. *Institutions do not get a login and password for member only access. Institutions receive one copy of the Nebraska Ancestree to share among members or post in their library. Insitutions may get a discount in vendor costs at our annual event.
*Digital memberships do not get a printed copy of the "Nebraska Ancestree", but rather may read it by viewing online or downloading from this website under members only (after logging in) and "secure downloads".
