HISTORY
Cheyenne county was founded in June 1867 from unorganized area of the Nebraska territory, and formed in 1871. The county seat is Sidney. Population of Cheyenne county as of 2010 was 9998.

The society has all marriage records before 1987, cemetery transcriptions done in 1998, census films for the county, and a county history book with biographies. Their collections have been moved to the Sidney library in the B. Seda Heritage Room.
